Small classes and one to one lessons where you talk more than the teacher. Come for a level check and start where you actually are.
- 01 / 04LevelWhere you are now.

- 03 / 04LessonsStep by step, with plenty of speaking.

In the classroom
You do the talking
If the teacher is talking most of the hour, it is the wrong hour.
Start where you are
A short level check first, so nobody is bored or lost.
Mistakes are the work
Corrected kindly, in a room where everybody is getting things wrong.
For a real reason
A job, an exam, a move, a family — lessons are built around yours.
What we teach
Group classes
Small groups by level, A1 to C2, once or twice a week, with real conversation.
One to one
Built around your reason, your pace and your week.
Exam preparation
Whichever certificate you need, with mock papers and — above all — the speaking part.
For work
The language of your job: meetings, emails, customers, the site or the clinic.
Conversation classes
For people who can read it perfectly and freeze when they have to speak.
Grammar clinics
For the three things that keep going wrong, rather than a whole book of them.
Children and teenagers
Lessons that work alongside school rather than repeating it.
Intensive courses
Before a move or a deadline, with hours that add up quickly.
Online lessons
The same teaching, from wherever you are.
Certificates
A statement of the level you reached, for an employer or a university.
Starting a course
Placed at the right level, not the one on paper.
- Step 1
A short level test
A conversation and a few written questions, free, and it tells us more than your school report.
- Step 2
Pick a group
The right level — A1 to C2 — at a time that fits your week.
- Step 3
Classes
Speaking from the first one, with homework you can actually manage.
- Step 4
Check your progress
A review each term, and a move up a level when you are ready for it.

Most people arrive after years of lessons that taught grammar and left them unable to speak. So we start the other way round: you use what you have, badly at first, and the grammar arrives to explain what you are already doing.
Progress is measured by what you can do — book a table, argue with a landlord, sit an exam — rather than by how many pages we have covered.

The school
The classrooms, the people, and the wall where everybody writes their reason for learning.

How long until I can hold a conversation?
It depends on the hours you put in and how much you use it outside class. We will give you an honest answer after the level check, not a number from an advert.
What level am I?
That is what the level check is for. Most people are a level below where they think and a level above where they fear.
I learned it at school and forgot everything.
Most of it is still there, and it comes back faster than it went.
Are classes in the language from the start?
Mostly, from the first lesson, with explanations in a language you understand when they are needed.
Can I join mid-term?
Usually, if there is a group at your level. Ask and we will tell you.
Do you prepare for certificates?
Yes, including the speaking part, which is where most people lose marks.
Where we are
The address is below, with directions from wherever you are. Lessons can also be online.

Need it for something?
Tell us the deadline and we will tell you honestly what is possible before it.
Book a level check
Send which language, why you need it, roughly what level you think you are and when you are free. The level check takes twenty minutes.
