We draw for you, not from a catalogue. Bring an idea, however rough, and we will tell you honestly what will work on that part of the body.

From idea to healed
Nothing is rushed, and nothing is booked before the design is agreed.
- Step 1
Send the idea
What you want, where on the body, roughly what size, and any reference pictures.
- Step 2
A consultation
Free, half an hour, and an honest answer about what will work there and how it will age.
- Step 3
The drawing and the deposit
We draw for you and change it until it is right; a deposit holds the day and comes off the price.
- Step 4
The session
Stencil placed and checked in the mirror, then linework and shading, with breaks whenever you need them.
- Step 5
Healing
Aftercare written down, and a touch-up on our own work once it has settled.
What we do
Custom work
Drawn for you from your idea, in the style we have agreed.
Large pieces
Sleeves and backs, planned as a whole and worked over several sessions.
Fine line and lettering
Small, delicate work and script — with honest advice about how thin lines age.
Blackwork and dotwork
Solid black, ornamental and stippled shading.
Traditional and neo-traditional
Bold lines and colour that stays readable for decades.
Realism and portraits
Slow work in greywash or colour, planned over more than one sitting.
Cover-ups and reworks
An honest look first — some can be covered, some are better reworked.
Touch-ups
On our own work, free within the first few months once it has healed.
Flash days
Ready-drawn designs, first come first served, announced on our page.
Guest artists
Other studios' artists working here for a few days at a time.
Consultations
Free, half an hour, and no pressure to book at the end of it.
Questions people ask
How do I book?
Send us your idea, where you want it and roughly the size. We answer with what it would take, and a deposit holds the day.
What does the deposit do?
It holds your appointment and pays for the drawing time. It comes off the final price, and we will tell you before you pay it what happens if you move the date.
Does it hurt?
Some places more than others — ribs, sternum, inner arm and anywhere over bone. We take breaks, and nobody thinks less of you for asking for one.
How long will it take?
A small piece is under an hour. A sleeve is several sessions weeks apart, and we will map that out before the first one.
How old do I have to be?
Eighteen, with identification. No exceptions, whoever comes with you.
Can you cover an old tattoo?
Often, yes. Send a clear photograph in daylight and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

We take fewer pieces and give each one the time it needs. That means a wait for big work, and it means the drawing happens before the day rather than in the chair.
We will say so if an idea will not age well, will not fit where you want it, or would be better as two sessions. It is on you for life; being liked less for an hour is a fair trade.
