Our story
The shopA room full of things somebody chose
The stock is small enough that we have read a good part of it and can tell you what a book is actually like — not what the cover says.
We order in daily, so the choice is not what is on the shelf; it is everything in print, with somebody to ask about it.

Send us the list and how many copies you need, and we will order them together and tell you the price before anything is bought.
For book groups we can hold the next title back so nobody is left waiting, and we will happily suggest ones that give a room something to argue about.
In the shop
The shelves, the window, and the table of things we are pressing on people this month.

Ordering a book
If it is in print, we can usually get it.
- Step 1
Ask at the counter
Or ring, or send a message with the title — an ISBN removes all doubt.
- Step 2
We check the suppliers
Which edition, paperback or hardback, and when it should arrive.
- Step 3
We call you
The day it comes in.
- Step 4
Pick it up
It waits behind the counter with your name on it.
