Classes for children and for adults who have never danced in their lives. Come and watch one, or join in — both are allowed.
What we teach
01Ballet
Barre, posture and the basics done properly, for children who want the discipline and adults who always wanted to try.
02* Adult beginners
Whole classes of people starting from nothing, together, in whichever style they came for.
03Contemporary and modern
For dancers who want to move rather than count.
04Street and hip-hop
For children and teenagers, with music they would choose themselves.
05Latin
Salsa, bachata and cha-cha — the ones that get played at every party.
06Ballroom
Waltz, tango and the steps that make a formal evening enjoyable rather than long.
07Wedding first dance
A dance you can actually do, taught in a handful of lessons, to your song.
08Exams and grades
For children who want them, with nobody pushed into it.
09Shows
Twice a year, for those who want to be in them.
10Private lessons
One to one, for a deadline or for confidence before joining a class.
11Groups and parties
An hour of one style, booked as a group, for people who will not be back.
Your first class
Nobody expects you to know anything when you walk in.
- Step 1
Pick a beginners' class
The timetable says which ones are for starting out.
- Step 2
Come as you are
Comfortable clothes and clean shoes with a smooth sole. No partner needed.
- Step 3
Learn the basics
Counted out loud, broken into steps, and repeated until they are in your feet.
- Step 4
Stay for the social
Or don't. Either way, come back next week.
In the studio
Classes, shows and the mirror everybody avoids looking into at first.

Everybody in the class was a beginner within the last year or two, and they all remember it. The teaching is patient, the counting is out loud, and nobody is corrected in front of the room.
Children learn discipline and get to show off twice a year. Adults learn enough to enjoy a wedding rather than stand at the bar.
Questions people ask
01I have no partner.
Neither do most people in the couples classes. Partners rotate, and everybody dances.
02I have two left feet.
So did most of the room a year ago. Steps are counted out and repeated until they stick.
03What should I wear?
Something you can move in, and shoes with a smooth sole. No lycra required, ever.
04How many lessons before a wedding?
A handful, if you start a month or two out. Come earlier and it stops being homework.
05How old do children start?
Ask us — it depends on the class and the child more than the birthday.
06Can I watch a class first?
Please do. Sit at the side and see whether it is for you.
