What we treat
Check-up and hygiene
An examination, a scale and polish, and honest advice about what your teeth need next.
White fillings
Composite fillings matched to the tooth, while the tooth can still be saved.
Root canal treatment
The tooth kept rather than taken out, under anaesthetic, in as few visits as it takes.
Crowns, bridges and veneers
A tooth rebuilt so you can eat on it and forget about it.
Dental implants
A fixed replacement for a missing tooth, planned from a scan before anything is done.
Clear aligners and braces
Straightening for adults and children, with what each option involves and how long it takes.
Teeth whitening
In the chair or with trays at home, with the shade agreed first.
Gum treatment
Bleeding or receding gums treated before they cost you the teeth around them.
Children's dentistry
A first visit that is a ride in the chair and a count of the teeth, nothing more.
Extractions and wisdom teeth
Taken out only when keeping the tooth is the worse option, and always under anaesthetic.
Dentures and repairs
New dentures fitted, and a broken one looked at the same day where we can.
Emergencies
Toothache, a lost filling, a broken tooth — ring in the morning and we will find you a slot.
Questions people ask
I have not been to a dentist for years.
Then you are like half the people we see. Come for an examination: we will tell you where you stand and what it would take, and you decide what happens next.
What does a check-up include?
An examination of the teeth, gums and bite, an X-ray if it is needed, and a written plan if anything needs doing. No treatment on the day unless you are in pain.
Will it hurt?
We numb properly and wait until the anaesthetic has worked. Tell us if you feel anything and we stop.
How much will it cost?
You get the price before the work, in writing. Where a plan runs over several visits you get the whole figure, not the first one.
How often should I come?
Most people every six months, some every three if the gums need watching. We will tell you which you are, and remind you when it is due.
Can I bring my child?
Yes. A first visit for a child is a look and a count, and children are welcome at any appointment.
Do you see people in pain the same day?
Slots are kept free every morning for exactly that. Ring early.
Your first visit
An examination, an explanation, and a written plan. Treatment comes after.
- Step 1
We talk first
What has been bothering you, your medical history, and any medicine you take.
- Step 2
The examination
Teeth, gums and bite checked, with an X-ray only where it changes the answer.
- Step 3
Your treatment plan
What needs doing now, what can wait, and the cost of each — in writing.
- Step 4
You decide
Nothing is started until you have agreed to it, and you can take the plan home.
The practice
The surgery, the equipment and the people you will meet.

A written plan
What we found, what we would do and what it costs, before any drill is switched on.
The same dentist
One dentist who knows your mouth and what was done last time.
Nervous patients
Say so when you book and the appointment is longer, quieter and stops whenever you raise a hand.
