Somebody shows you what to do, in what order, with weights you can actually lift. Come for a look before you decide anything.
- 01 / 04StartWhere you are now.
- 02 / 04PlanBuilt around your goal.
- 03 / 04TrainCoached, rep by rep.
- 04 / 04ProgressMeasured, so you can see it.
What we do
- 01MembershipThe gym floor, free weights, machines and cardio, at whatever hours suit you.
- 02Personal trainingOne to one, with a programme written for your body, your week and your knees.
- 03Starting outA few sessions to learn the lifts safely before going it alone.
- 04Small groupsTwo to six people, cheaper than one to one and better than a class.
- 05StrengthThe squat, the deadlift, the press and the row, taught properly rather than copied from a phone.
- 06ProgrammesFull-body or split, with a little more added each week so it keeps working.
- 07Mobility and warm-upsThe ten minutes that decide whether your back complains tomorrow.
- 08Coming backAfter an injury, an operation or a decade off, in that order and at that pace.
- 09ClassesTimetabled sessions, listed on our page, no booking needed for most.
- 10MeasurementsWeight, waist and body composition if you want them tracked — and left alone if you do not.
- 11Older membersStrength, balance and being able to carry the shopping in one trip.
Inside
The floor, the equipment, and the changing rooms — which are the bit everybody wants to see.

Nobody is left to work out the machines on their own.
- Step 01
Come for a look
See the place at the time you would actually train.
- Step 02
A first session
A coach shows you round, asks what you want from it, and writes down where you are starting.
- Step 03
A plan to start with
Simple, written down, and built around the days you can actually come.
- Step 04
Check-ins
A catch-up after a few weeks to add weight where it is easy and change what is not working.
Questions people ask
I have never trained. Is that a problem?
It is most of who comes here. The first session is learning what to do, slowly.
Do I need a contract?
Ask us what we offer — there is a way to pay that suits most people, and we will tell you the cheapest one for how often you will actually come.
What should I wear?
Anything you can move in and shoes that are not slippery. That is it.
I have an injury.
Tell us about it before we start. We will work around it and tell you if you should see somebody first.
Weights or cardio?
Both, and in that order for most people. We will explain why rather than just telling you.
How often should I come?
Twice a week, consistently, beats five times for two weeks. We will be honest about what will fit your life.

Most people do not need a programme built for an athlete. They need a few movements done properly, twice a week, for long enough to become a habit.
So we start where you are — including if that is a long way from where you used to be — and we would rather you came twice a week for a year than five times for a fortnight.
What it is like
Shown what to do
Nobody is left staring at a machine wondering which bit moves.
A plan you can follow
Written down, with sets, reps and what to do when you have twenty minutes instead of an hour.
No shouting
The music is reasonable and nobody films themselves in the mirror.
Come and look first
Walk round, ask questions, and decide afterwards.
Book a first session
Send what you would like to do, roughly how often you can come, and anything we should know about injuries.
