Speaking from the first lesson
Small classes and one to one lessons where you talk more than the teacher. Come for a level check and start where you actually are.

In the classroom
- 1
You do the talking
If the teacher is talking most of the hour, it is the wrong hour.
- 2
Start where you are
A short level check first, so nobody is bored or lost.
- 3
Mistakes are the work
Corrected kindly, in a room where everybody is getting things wrong.
- 4
For a real reason
A job, an exam, a move, a family — lessons are built around yours.

- 06Grammar clinicsFor the three things that keep going wrong, rather than a whole book of them.

The classrooms, the people, and the wall where everybody writes their reason for learning.

Questions people ask
- How long until I can hold a conversation?
- It depends on the hours you put in and how much you use it outside class. We will give you an honest answer after the level check, not a number from an advert.
- What level am I?
- That is what the level check is for. Most people are a level below where they think and a level above where they fear.
- I learned it at school and forgot everything.
- Most of it is still there, and it comes back faster than it went.
- Are classes in the language from the start?
- Mostly, from the first lesson, with explanations in a language you understand when they are needed.
- Can I join mid-term?
- Usually, if there is a group at your level. Ask and we will tell you.
- Do you prepare for certificates?
- Yes, including the speaking part, which is where most people lose marks.
Starting a course
Placed at the right level, not the one on paper.
- 01
A short level test
A conversation and a few written questions, free, and it tells us more than your school report.
- 02
Pick a group
The right level — A1 to C2 — at a time that fits your week.
- 03
Classes
Speaking from the first one, with homework you can actually manage.
- 04
Check your progress
A review each term, and a move up a level when you are ready for it.
Photo: Tahir Xəlfəquliyev / PexelsThe schoolLanguage as something you use, not something you study
Most people arrive after years of lessons that taught grammar and left them unable to speak. So we start the other way round: you use what you have, badly at first, and the grammar arrives to explain what you are already doing.
Progress is measured by what you can do — book a table, argue with a landlord, sit an exam — rather than by how many pages we have covered.
