Servicing, repairs and diagnostics by people who explain things in plain words — and ring you before doing anything you have not agreed to.
- 01 / 04BookingA time that works for you.
- 02 / 04DiagnosisWhat is wrong, explained.
- 03 / 04RepairOnly what you agree to.
- 04 / 04RoadTested before you drive away.
In a few words
Agreed before it is doneThe old parts keptTold what can waitNo jargon
- 01We ring with the price. Nothing extra happens without a yes.
- 02Ask, and we will show you what came off your car.
- 03Urgent, soon, and keep an eye on it — three lists, not one.
- 04If we cannot explain it in a sentence, we have not understood it either.
What we do
- 01Servicing
- Full and interim: oil, filters and the checks the manufacturer set, with a list of what we found.
- 02Diagnostics
- Warning lights read properly, then traced — the code is where the work starts, not where it ends.
- 03Brakes
- Pads, discs, fluid and handbrakes, checked and priced before anything comes off.
- 04Timing belts and chains
- The job that is cheap to do and ruinous to skip, quoted with the water pump where it shares the work.
- 05Clutches and gearboxes
- The big jobs, quoted in writing with the labour set out separately.
- 06Suspension and steering
- Shocks, bushes, bearings and the knock you have stopped noticing.
- 07Wheel alignment and balancing
- For tyres wearing on one edge and a steering wheel that will not sit straight.
- 08Tyres and exhausts
- Fitted and balanced, and the exhaust repaired rather than replaced where that is honest.
- 09Batteries, starters and alternators
- Starting problems found rather than guessed at.
- 10Air conditioning
- Regassed and checked for leaks, before summer rather than during it.
- 11Test preparation
- Checked over before the annual test, so it fails on our ramp and not on theirs.
- 12Pre-purchase checks
- Before you buy somebody else's car, we will tell you what it needs.

Road-tested, explained at the counter, and written on the invoice in plain words.

Most people cannot check whether a repair was needed, which is exactly why a garage has to behave as if they could. So we show the old parts, we quote before we start, and we tell you what is not urgent as clearly as what is.
We would rather keep a car running for another two years than sell its owner a repair it did not need.
