Told what is wrong, and what it costs, before we touch it
Servicing, repairs and diagnostics by people who explain things in plain words — and ring you before doing anything you have not agreed to.

- 01
Agreed before it is done
We ring with the price. Nothing extra happens without a yes.
- 02
The old parts kept
Ask, and we will show you what came off your car.
- 03
Told what can wait
Urgent, soon, and keep an eye on it — three lists, not one.
- 04
No jargon
If we cannot explain it in a sentence, we have not understood it either.
What we do
Servicing
Full and interim: oil, filters and the checks the manufacturer set, with a list of what we found.
Diagnostics
Warning lights read properly, then traced — the code is where the work starts, not where it ends.
Brakes
Pads, discs, fluid and handbrakes, checked and priced before anything comes off.
Timing belts and chains
The job that is cheap to do and ruinous to skip, quoted with the water pump where it shares the work.
Clutches and gearboxes
The big jobs, quoted in writing with the labour set out separately.
Suspension and steering
Shocks, bushes, bearings and the knock you have stopped noticing.
Wheel alignment and balancing
For tyres wearing on one edge and a steering wheel that will not sit straight.
Tyres and exhausts
Fitted and balanced, and the exhaust repaired rather than replaced where that is honest.
Batteries, starters and alternators
Starting problems found rather than guessed at.
Air conditioning
Regassed and checked for leaks, before summer rather than during it.
Test preparation
Checked over before the annual test, so it fails on our ramp and not on theirs.
Pre-purchase checks
Before you buy somebody else's car, we will tell you what it needs.
When your car comes in
No work is done that you have not agreed to first.
- Step 1
Book in
Call or message with the car and what it is doing.
- Step 2
Diagnose
We read the codes, then trace the fault properly, and ring you with the price.
- Step 3
Repair
Only what you agreed, with the old parts kept to show you.
- Step 4
Collect
Road-tested, explained at the counter, and written on the invoice in plain words.

Most people cannot check whether a repair was needed, which is exactly why a garage has to behave as if they could. So we show the old parts, we quote before we start, and we tell you what is not urgent as clearly as what is.
We would rather keep a car running for another two years than sell its owner a repair it did not need.

Questions people ask
Can I get a price first?
For anything known, yes, before you bring it. For a fault, we charge for the diagnosis and tell you the repair price before starting.
What if you find something else?
We ring you. Nothing beyond what you agreed happens without a yes.
My warning light came on and went off. Does that matter?
Sometimes. The code stays in the memory, so bring it in and we can read what happened even though the light is out.
How long will it take?
Told when you book, and told again if it changes. Most servicing is the same day.
Can I see the old parts?
Always. Ask when you drop it off and we will keep them for you.
Do you do courtesy cars?
Ask when you book — we will tell you honestly what we can do that day.
When we are open
Drop the keys through the door before we open if that is easier.
