Pictures you will still want to look at in twenty years
Weddings, families, portraits and work for businesses. Told what you get and when you get it, before anything is booked.
What I photograph
- 01Weddings
- From the morning to the first dance, or just the hours you want covered, with a second photographer where the day needs one.
- 02Pre-wedding shoots
- An hour beforehand, which is mostly about getting used to a camera before the day that matters.
- 03Families
- An hour somewhere you already go, with children allowed to be children.
- 04Portraits
- For work, for applications, or because nobody has taken a good one of you in years.
- 05Newborns and christenings
- Quiet, unhurried, at your pace and around feeds.
- 06Business and product
- Photographs for a website that do not look like stock, with a usage licence so your marketing people can get on with it.
- 07Events
- Parties, openings and the days a company wants to remember properly.
- 08Editing
- Colour and light corrected, and retouching kept to what you would recognise as yourself.
- 09Prints and albums
- Made up properly, so the pictures exist somewhere other than a phone.
- 10Restoration and copying
- Old family photographs scanned and repaired.

The best pictures from any day are the ones nobody posed for: somebody laughing at a joke you cannot hear, a child who has forgotten the camera is there.
So I work quietly, direct when it helps, and stay out of the way when it does not. What you get afterwards is the day as it felt rather than a set of arrangements.
Booking a shoot
From the first message to the finished pictures.
- Step 1
Tell me the plan
What it is for, where, and the feel you want.
- Step 2
The date is held
A deposit holds it and comes off the price. What is covered and for how long is written down.
- Step 3
We plan it together
The place, the time of day and a list of the people who must be in a photograph.
- Step 4
The shoot
Relaxed, with direction when you need it and none when you do not.
- Step 5
Your gallery
Edited pictures in an online gallery, ready to download and print, by the date agreed.
In a few words
- 01
Said in advance
How many pictures, how many hours of coverage, in what form and by what date — in writing.
- 02
A relaxed day
Directed enough that you know what to do, left alone enough that it looks like you.
- 03
Backed up twice
Everything copied to two places the same day. Nothing has ever been lost that way.
- 04
Yours to print
Files you can actually use, with permission to print them wherever you like.
Questions people ask
- How long until I see the pictures?
- A few within days and the rest by a date agreed before the booking, in writing.
- How many pictures do I get?
- Told before you book, as a number rather than a promise of plenty.
- Do I get the unedited files?
- No, and no photographer worth booking hands those over: editing is half the work you are paying for. What you get is the finished pictures at full size.
- Can we print them ourselves?
- Yes. You get files you can use, and permission to print them where you like.
- What if it rains?
- We move indoors or use it — wet weather makes better pictures than people expect.
- What if you are ill on the day?
- There is a plan and other photographers who cover for each other. You will not be left without one.
