A shop where somebody has read them. Tell us what you liked last and we will find the next one — and order anything we do not have, usually within days.

What we do
- 01
New books
Fiction, non-fiction and the ones people ask for all year round.
- 02
Ordering
Anything in print, usually within days, and a message the moment it arrives.
- 03
School reading lists
The set books for each year, ordered together in September rather than hunted for in October.
- 04
Children
Picture books to first novels, sorted by what a child will actually sit through.
- 05
Editions
Paperback, hardback, and the translation worth having when there is more than one.
- 06
Second-hand and out of print
What we can find, and honest advice when a title is not worth chasing.
- 07
Local interest
Books about here, and books by people from here.
- 08
Stationery
Notebooks, pens and the things that get bought at the same time as a book.
- 09
Gifts
Wrapped, with a card, and honest advice about what a person like that would enjoy.
- 10
Book groups and schools
Copies ordered together, with a price agreed before anything is bought.
- 11
Events
Readings, signings and evenings worth turning out for — dates on our page.
