A gym for people who are not gym people
Somebody shows you what to do, in what order, with weights you can actually lift. Come for a look before you decide anything.

What it is like
- Shown what to do
- A plan you can follow
- No shouting
- Come and look first

Most people do not need a programme built for an athlete. They need a few movements done properly, twice a week, for long enough to become a habit.
So we start where you are — including if that is a long way from where you used to be — and we would rather you came twice a week for a year than five times for a fortnight.
What we do
- 01
Membership
The gym floor, free weights, machines and cardio, at whatever hours suit you.
- 02
Personal training
One to one, with a programme written for your body, your week and your knees.
- 03
Starting out
A few sessions to learn the lifts safely before going it alone.
- 04
Small groups
Two to six people, cheaper than one to one and better than a class.
- 05
Strength
The squat, the deadlift, the press and the row, taught properly rather than copied from a phone.
- 06
Programmes
Full-body or split, with a little more added each week so it keeps working.
- 07
Mobility and warm-ups
The ten minutes that decide whether your back complains tomorrow.
- 08
Coming back
After an injury, an operation or a decade off, in that order and at that pace.
- 09
Classes
Timetabled sessions, listed on our page, no booking needed for most.
- 10
Measurements
Weight, waist and body composition if you want them tracked — and left alone if you do not.
- 11
Older members
Strength, balance and being able to carry the shopping in one trip.

The floor, the equipment, and the changing rooms — which are the bit everybody wants to see.
Joining
Nobody is left to work out the machines on their own.
- 01
Come for a look
See the place at the time you would actually train.
- 02
A first session
A coach shows you round, asks what you want from it, and writes down where you are starting.
- 03
A plan to start with
Simple, written down, and built around the days you can actually come.
- 04
Check-ins
A catch-up after a few weeks to add weight where it is easy and change what is not working.
Questions people ask
01I have never trained. Is that a problem?
It is most of who comes here. The first session is learning what to do, slowly.
02Do I need a contract?
Ask us what we offer — there is a way to pay that suits most people, and we will tell you the cheapest one for how often you will actually come.
03What should I wear?
Anything you can move in and shoes that are not slippery. That is it.
04I have an injury.
Tell us about it before we start. We will work around it and tell you if you should see somebody first.
05Weights or cardio?
Both, and in that order for most people. We will explain why rather than just telling you.
06How often should I come?
Twice a week, consistently, beats five times for two weeks. We will be honest about what will fit your life.
